Wednesday Wow: An epiphany

Ever had an EPIPHANY?

I had one this morning and again this after noon. I’ve been praying for guidance for the longest of times.  And I think I got it.

You cant make a goat a pig……- right?

And you can’t make a book a salad ….right?

Ok, so tell me why in the BeJesus do momma’s  think I’m a baby sitter?

I was asked what do I do?  I said  tutor, cooking classes for kids, organize & host educational based play-dates, test products & services, promote total children  wellness, and I’m currently studying to become a doula.

Then the lady said, “well can you keep my kids????”  I’m thinking  that we must’ve had a disconnect some where.

I don’t Baby Sit!!!

But what I think I will do is build something  stronger. Something  empowering. Something in demand. Many of you know that I have a Stay At Home Mom group. I started it in 2007 right after having my four yr old. I knew that it wouldn’t be a big group because  it would be different. I would promote living in balance, but affordably. I wanted to attract mothers that wanted to be enlightened about all the branched of wellness. Spiritual, social, educationally, environmentally, physically, nutritionally, and financially. We would use each other as resources, support and refuge. So far so good.  I have over 100 members and have not only met those goals but have also became a community ambassador for many public kid friendly venues in Charlotte. QC SAHM has given away family tickets, house hold supplies, food items, referrals, contracted p-t jobs,

Here’s where the epiphany came today.

This morning ,at our weekly play-date, I had the pleasure of meeting one of our newest moms. After minutes of updating her about our group I discovered that she was a decent paid professional that chose to be at home with her new son. AND there are many like her that are members of my group.

Ok, here’s where the epiphany came the second time today.

Later today, I found out that daycares in the QC can run from $140.00 to $197.00. {wow!} I also thought about the cost of parenting classes, the value of  job finders and other great services that is offered  for free with membership. I really have something here! It’s original, affordable, and in demand.

Play-dates with enhanced motherhood support- QC SAHM

I picture in my mind a network of moms. Powerful, educated, professional stay at home moms that grow from the strengthens of each other to keep their industry knowledge and practice current, resourceful, vital and in demand. This would be the most powerful “play- group” in the QC, and this is the direction of the New QC SAHM. If you aren’t a member- join us! Membership is just $5.00, But the rewards are priceless!

Friday4: Review-Disney On Ice-Dare To Dream

Another Disney show, that delivered on their promise! The kids loved it. Eaim left us to hang with his buddy, but every time I looked back at him, he was munching, jumping and smiling! Without a doubt Disney is in the business of bringing magic to life. Here’s my review.

This live show featured scenes from Tangled, The Princess and the Frog, and Cinderella. My 2 yr old marveled at the captivating action   of the characters taking to the ice. A memory I will never forget it!

Mickey and his friends, including Tiana, Cinderella and Rapunzel were there to celebrate the magic of wishes coming true. The show opens in New Orleans where we see Tiana sharing her wishes of opening her own restaurant. The story follows her adventures of turning into a frog and finding true love.

Next we see the story of Cinderella. After getting a chance to go to the ball, in a beautiful horse drawn carriage, which looked really amazing on the ice, she runs home as the clock strikes midnight. Next, Flynn rider hangs from the ceiling while trying to steal the crown.

Oh no, next we find Rapunzel locked in her tower trying to convince her mother to let her leave. We follow through the story and get to the part with Rapunzel finally seeing the floating lanterns. The arena was lit up with lanterns hanging down over the ice, and it looked AMAZING!

At the end of the show all the Disney princesses came out for the spectacular finale. LOVED IT!

Beautiful costumes, amazing skaters and and all around great show for the whole family!

On my previous post, I had a picture with Rapunzal holding a pot over a dudes head. I didn’t know why she was doing that, but that was totally an attention getter. Come to find out. She was ———-(you have to go to the show to find out- lol) Disney On Ice presents Dare to Dream” last show is Sunday. So you don’t want to miss it and there’s still time!

Today, October 6th,2011

Disney On Ice put on their “Dare To Dream”

performance at the Time Warner Cable Arena.

We went to the 7:00 show. Mom, and the rest of

the crew seemed as if they had a great time!

Personally I give the performance tonight two

thumbs up, From the setting, to the hair and make-up all the

way to wardrobe. It was absolutely astonishing!! Exceptional!!

Words couldn’t explain how awesome it was!

My favorite part was when Princess Tianna kissed the frog,

turned into one, and went to the lady to turn her and the prince

back human. The woman was so funny, she reminded me of my mom!!

But the most romantic part was Rapunzel and her prince “Eugene”

(Flynn The Bad Guy) How they got to know each other and gained trust of each other. Overall, Everything was beautifully put together.

Bippity,Bopppity,Bye!!!- “D.” 12 yr old

We all went to Disney On Ice tonight.

I kinda liked it but I also thought that it was too much going on.

It was kinda over the top. I couldn’t keep up. They kept switching

the main characters to different people

I guess you gotta have a balance!

Wednesday Wow: Disney On Ice Tonight!

I woke up this morning around my usual time of 5:30 am and noticed that my daughter had wrote on the family messaging center “DISNEY ON ICE-OCTOBER 5TH – WE’RE IN THE HOUSE IN 1 DAY!!!!” I am thinking , OMG, this child is more excited than my 2 and 4 year old about the show, and I’m really ok with that.  It’s a mountain top up from Jerry Springer and DumbBob Square Pants.

Disney on Ice provides a great mental vacation that stimulates creativity and fantasy for kids. It really gives them an opportunity to experience a different type of reality from what they see day to day. For younger kids, they feel as though they are part of the show.  The older two, I’ve noticed that they consider things out of the box, like how they walk/skate. move/dance and dress. There is just so much going on. Everyone can get something out of it!

That's Deanna!

If you have been keeping up with me, you know that I was given a family four pack of tickets to give away. There were some awesome entries & I wish that I could have given away more, but the winner of those ticket was A. Howard. If you are still planning on going, just visit Time Warner Cable or the box office and be sure to use our QCSupermom discount code “ICE”. On my Friday Four post I will be sharing our personal recap of the show, so if you don’t make it this year you can still get an idea of what it was like. Also stick around because I’m always getting thing to share, & you can’t get it if you don’t know about it!
