About TobyMac: HITS DEEP TOUR 2016 Concert Review

It was February 20.here  in  Charlotte, NC at the Time Warner Cable Arena. After various amazing acts, “HE” arrives on stage!  Well after that, it a just magic!

TobyMac is one talented man! He is cool as a cucumber and smoother than yogurt! I didn’t want to leave. as he sung, my daughter whispered (well  yelled, you get the point) “Ma, they are singing their hearts out!”

I have never seen the arena that packed! They poured in from all age groups. Soon I found myself nodding my head and throwing my hands in the air to his urban , spiritually hyped flow! It was that awesome of an experience.

To see more videos click here! If I didn’t learn anything else. I learned not to judge a book by it’s cover and people love good music! TobyMac is amazing! Go see him in concert if you have a chance. I asked around and discovered that folks come in from as far as Raleigh NC and Columbia SC.  So yeah, he’s worth the drive. Now, be sure to get your tickets early; as you seen in the video above, he draws a full house.

Wednesday Wow: TobyMac is Back in the QC!

Every once in a while, I’ll get a job that makes scratch my head. I love adventures and discovering new things. For example, TobyMac. I have never heard of him in my life.But I’m going to his concert this week.

 I did google him and learned that he is a Christian hip hop recording artist, music producer, hip-hop and pop artist, songwriter and author. It was said that he is one of the first and best-known Christian rappers. (cool right?) 

Another awesome thing I learned about him is that he’s humble. After taking home the award for the Best Contemporary Christian Music Album for ‘This is Not a Test.’

He said, “So honored, so grateful, so humbled and soooo thankful for all who labored with me on this project. To God b the glory,” he wrote. “I try to write from real life experiences. It might be about things God’s Word is teaching me,” he told CBN News. “I always say I write about trying to stay in hot pursuit of holiness in this crazy world.”One of the main lines of the song is ‘There ain’t no practice runs in life.’ This is it…today. Don’t just intend, get on it,” he added.

To get into the swing of things and not feel completely odd, I youtubed some of his music. I found one that I really LOVED. It’s ‘Speak Life!’

Sweet Minions: A Magical Moment in February

The room was filled with blue and yellow. These”Sweet Minions” didn’t have a clue of the night of treats they were in for. It was the 3rd annual Family Valentine’s Day Party in the QC! There was a live DJ, a vegan dessert bar, vendors selling goods for no more then $5 an items and a real magician!

Last Saturday was cold but a few of the families from Queen City Stay At Home Moms ventured out to celebrated the sweetest week end with their tin-inset heart.

Houdini must have performed 6 or more magic tricks. All Of Them Were Amazing! I shared one here,but you can swing over to my YouTube channel to see more.

Queen City Stay At Home Moms is the leading mom group in Charlotte. They attract a certain type of mom. Those that want to be celebrated ans not degraded for choosing to put their family first. They host weekly gatherings that meets a few goals.

Friday Four: Turning Dreams into Reality

I like to drop treasures along for others to use after they have proven to be an asset.. Because I know the struggle when you try to do something different- something positive -something different, for yourself and family. I hope these four tips make your journey a bit easier.

How to Turn Dreams into Reality

1. Tell someone else what your hopes and dreams are – and what you plan on doing to get you there. Speaking out our plans and goals helps us commit to persevering. But be mindful. There are people out there that will attempt to steal your ideas.

2. Put it on your calendar and carve out some time to invest in your dreams – every day, if possible. Be realistic.

3. Start with something small so you don’t feel overwhelmed. It’s also motivating to see your Star Seed Self succeed (and that becomes more likely if you start with baby steps.)

4. Leave reminders everywhere to motivate you to “keep going”. Reward yourself along the way.

5. When you feel like giving up – just stop and focus on “right now”. Doing that will stop you thinking up a whole book of excuse. For me, looking at my children is all the motivation I need.  Can You Believe It…. they want to eat  EVERYDAY!

Wednesday Wow: Sister SoulJah in the QC

Happy Black History Month people! My month of reflection began last week when Sister SoulJah visited the Beatties Ford Rd. library in Charlotte NC. It was like a dream come true. I now have one less thing to accomplish on my Bucket List!

I believe in divine interventions. I believe that you are where you are, sent elsewhere, drawn toward something or some one beyond your conscious efforts. It’s like the minute you intentional strive to be a certain way, your path opens up! The I decided that I would be the best mom I could be. So I sought support. I know I wanted  to connect with people who have taken various paths in life to become the incredible leaders they are today.  (In this video, it’s another great woman, Cheryl LittleJohn of Gastonnia)

During a recent visit to my local library, I seen a flyer saying Sister Souljah was coming to Charlotte for a book signing of her book The Coldest Winter Ever  (you can buy it on Amazon via the high light link)

This was perfect because I had just received her first book from my daughters. They found it in a bin at a local book store for free!

It’s called, No DISRESPECT.  It took me 3 weeks to read it. Not that it’s a hard read or anything, it’s just that I wanted to break it up in sections to use as a conversation piece while taking my girls to school across town in the mornings. It proved to be an asset. Our conversations were deeper. They opened up about the peers and day environment more easily. It’s because she is so relative, approachable, and in sync, I know her books will always  have a place within my family’s book shelf.

It was a honor to be in her presence with my teen daughters.  Sometimes when we tell our children things, they don’t always “get it!” Even if you experience it and crying your eyes out to warn them. But when it comes from another person. that speaks to them on their level. Spitting out a”  MF*”  here and there….. they tend to get it!

Here’s my short handed-cliff notes. I wrote them on the back of the paper I had signed for two mama friends. I wrote what she said. Do not let your child read it before you.
