Tomorrow is Cow Appreciation Day. Yay! My little ones look forward to it every year . This year instead of Friday, it’s on a Tuesday. Another change is in the requirement for the free food. You can wear anything cow’ish and get an entre’. Need help making a quick costume?
With the help of my four fellas, here’s what we came up with :
Yes, a ChickFilA cow is glued on. We also glued coins on it, don’t ask why. I used left over cuttings for this shirt.
This cow shirt has 2 teats for breastfeeding.
Soccer Cow Shirt
This is a sports cow shirt.
For the tail, we cut out a shape on fabric. untied the twine. Tied string around the twine squeezed the glue on the shirt where I wanted to tail to be placed.I laid the “tail” down- then covered it with glued black fabric.
Supplies
$7 -Pack Of Shirts Free Glue Gun String (for the tail) Scissors
6 Glue Sticks Black & white Fabric (felt works great too) Twine (for the tails)
Note: We are not entering a contest. The mission was to create creative cow’ish costumes. The boys did most of the work themselves with very little help from me.Personally I think they did great! It shows that you don’t have to spend a whole lot to spend quality time with your children.
Do you feel like you are in the Twilight Zone? Are you angry, confused, fearful, hopeless, ready to leave the United States of America? I am.Just yesterday, we celebrated The Fourth Of July; The Declaration Of Independence, then BAM- today the police goes on a Black Man Purge!
I’ve had to come off my “GOD Box” to put my Facebook Lurkers in check, because they got too bold behind the computer screen. But I knew they were just speaking their truth and I should really understand the underlying information they were sharing. I received that they wanted power over us, our children and our livelihood. That, I just can’t allow. And neither should you parents.
I will not live in fear. I will not allow my children to live in fear. I will not rely on anyone for my food (completely) And I will not allow my loved ones to perish either. It’s a great feeling to know it’s not all whites that feel this way. I must add.Because I want my children to continue to grow their love, appreciation and knowledge of all races.
It is said, “A generation that ignores their history has no future.” The time is now to wake up and and be present with our children’s psychological needs. New sneakers won’t do it. There are four things I need you to do this weekend:
Go plant a garden. Yes, start feeding yourself. As they say, the hand that feeds you -control you. It could soon become a batering tool, and it’s a great way to get in shape and get your mind of all of the brothers and sisters being murdered by the police. Today, my husband took the kids to play tennis and I took them with me this morning to shop for school and college supplies.
Learn 4 “Prepper Strategies”. It’s time to work together. Look out for your neighbor, and protect each other. Be prepared to make sacrifices to help take care of others by learning ways, to build together. As anger increases, so does crime rates. As a parent, your job is to protect your seeds.
Be mindful of what and how you communicate information about police, and other people of authority with your minors. I hate the officers that kill for no reason. I also know helpful officers that strive to keep peace in words and not violence.
Back away from social media. It can be overwhelming and depressing. Moniter what your children are exsposed to also. Instead, celebrate, love, respect more!
One good thing about is that the WORLD is the getting true story of American blacks. So many countries have been on social media connecting with black Americans. They want facts they know they will not get on the news. Thanks to social media, it is out.
Here’s how to file your paper work to get your doula fees paid.
The fact that their insurance company might reimburse at least some portion of the fee for your services might make you attractive to a group of potential clients who might not have been interested before. Getting reimbursement for doula services requires patience and persistence, but it can be done. If you are going to offer this as a possibility for your clients, you will also need to be willing to offer some guidance and, most likely, a fair amount of support, as they attempt to get reimbursed.
How to Request Insurance Reimbursement for Doula Services
___ Pay your doula in full.
___ Get an invoice from her which includes the following information:
The doula’s name and address
Her social security number/taxpayer ID number or NPI number
The date and location services were provided
The CPT code for the services provided
A diagnosis code
The doula’s signature
___ Submit the invoice with a claim form to your insurance company.
___ Within four weeks, expect a letter telling you either that
They need more information before they can process your claim.
This is not a covered expense.
___ Ask your Doula to send you the following:
A copy of her certification (if she is certified)
Other credentials or relevant training
A letter detailing her training and experience and what she did for you
___ If possible, ask your obstetrician or midwife for a letter explaining why a doula helped you, was necessary, or saved the insurance company money. (Did you have a high-risk pregnancy? Did the doula’s suggestions appear to prevent complications or help your labor to progress more quickly? Did the doula’s presence decrease your need for expensive pain medications?)
___ Write a letter explaining why you felt the need for a doula and how you believe the doula was beneficial to your health.
___ Submit to your insurance company: the doula’s letter and credentials the letter from the doctor your cover letter
___ If they refuse it, write a letter to Health Services requesting that they review the claim, as you feel it was a cost-cutting measure and they should cover the cost.
___ Follow up by telephone if necessary.
___ If they refuse, write a letter to the CEO explaining why you feel that doula care should be a covered expense. They may not pay your claim, but they will consider it for the future. (Kelli Way, ICCE, CD(DONA) 1998.
