Sweet Minions: A Magical Moment in February

The room was filled with blue and yellow. These”Sweet Minions” didn’t have a clue of the night of treats they were in for. It was the 3rd annual Family Valentine’s Day Party in the QC! There was a live DJ, a vegan dessert bar, vendors selling goods for no more then $5 an items and a real magician!

Last Saturday was cold but a few of the families from Queen City Stay At Home Moms ventured out to celebrated the sweetest week end with their tin-inset heart.

Houdini must have performed 6 or more magic tricks. All Of Them Were Amazing! I shared one here,but you can swing over to my YouTube channel to see more.

Queen City Stay At Home Moms is the leading mom group in Charlotte. They attract a certain type of mom. Those that want to be celebrated ans not degraded for choosing to put their family first. They host weekly gatherings that meets a few goals.

Moms can make mom friends like them that understand the challenges that come with being a mom, wife, work from home mom, new mom, older mom, homeschooling mom and everything in between. Friday Four: Ringling Brothers Barnum & Bailey’s Circus Extreme: Reveiw

 Ringling Brothers Barnum & Bailey’s Circus Xtreme is rocking the Queen’s City !  How do I know? Because we attended this week of course!

Grab our family, run to the nearest Chick Fil A for a discount ticket and click on Ticketmaster for yourself!  You do not want to miss this show. We are the last show before the elephants retire to Florida!

There is a reason some brands become household names. They find something needed and they make it happen OVER ,and Over, and Over again! I love the fact that I still hold my breath as they walk the tight rope  in fours and as the  jump rope action intensified on the centrifugal  wheel! And who does not love a good cannon ball send off? It was incredible!

While I am a serious  classic Ringling Brothers girl, I will say that I am open to change. Now my children on the other hand. They almost wanted to cry when i told them the elephants were retiring. I’m sure they will get over it! There’s so much more to love!

Even as you exist, the gifts continue! Guest were sent home with gift cards for free Chick Fil A food!

But That’s Not All…… Oh No! (cheesy saying but true!)

Free with your ticket purchase, is the All Access Pre-show. You and your family can meet international cast of performers and get up close to our menagerie of animals. You can touch, feel, ask questions, take a picture and make a new friend there!

 Ringling Bros. and Barnum & Bailey presents Circus XTREME, along with local sponsor Chick-fil-A,  visited pediatric patients from Levine’s Children’s Hospital as well as hosted a Painting with Pachyderms Party for patients and their families. Children receiving treatment from Levine’s participated in two action-packed days filled with lots of Ringling entertainment, creativity, laughter and lots of fun! You should have seen the smiles on their faces! it’s was truly priceless. Even the guardians in attendance were  glowing with joy!

After the painting party,everyone was treated a to wonderful lunch from Chick Fil A. Which happens to be a sponsor of the event. Great team up if you ask me!

Here’s my four tips for attending a Ringling Brothers Circus:

1. Have a zoo party at home or go by the local party store for circus related accessories.

2. Eat before you arrive. Water is $2.00! I usually take fruits.

3. Get there at least an hour early to smell, touch and take pictures with the animals, and entertainers. The sweet memories will last longer!

4. Park On East Trade. There is a $5- FIVE dollar lot on the other side of the CAT’s bus area.

The 2016 touring season brings more Monster Jam excitement, providing entertainment tailored perfectly for your family’s budget, and these colorful, larger-than-life beasts are sure to capture the hearts of both young and old. This event will feature eight different trucks including Captain’s Curse, Doomsday, El Toro Loco, Grave Digger, Hot Wheels, Mad Scientist, MM Dalmatian and Zombie Hunter. Approximately 12-feet-tall and about 12-feet-wide, Monster Jam trucks are custom-designed machines that sit atop 66-inch-tall tires and weigh a minimum of 10,000 pounds. Built for short, high-powered bursts of speed, these trucks generate 1,500 to 2,000 horsepower and are capable of speeds of up to 100 miles per hour. Monster Jam trucks can fly up to 130 feet over 14 cars side-by-side and up to 35 feet in the air.

ALVIN AND THE CHIPMUNKS: THE ROAD CHIP (review)

The children and I will never be Siskel and Ebert, but we had a great time sharing our opinion of the latest movie from one of my childhood favorites, Alvin & the Chipmunks! Don’t go see it until you’reread my review of ” Alvin and the Chipmunks: The Road Chip”

I loved it. My 2 year old loved it. My 5 year old loved it. My 6 year old loved it. My 9 year old loved it. So did my teen daughters! Each of them had their favorite parts of the movie. Yes, thumbs up all across the board! 

The highlight of my night was the subliminal messages throughout the movie! But first let me start by saying that the movie was loaded wit energy from the beginning tho the end! I think we all lost 3 lbs within 90 minutes!

So  Samantha, a single mom gets with Dave and like any new love outside of their biological parents, the kids are against it. The parents went on a vacation and the adventure begins. The human son and the chipmunks have one heck of a bonding adventure! They had limited funds, but managed to get from point A to point B in the most creative ways. All while staying a step ahead of the Air Marshal that placed them on the No Fly Zone. I personally LOVED the way they used teamwork to build  trust among the kid’s* Which was hard because that boy was such a hard nut to crack.

Yes, I know it was a movie, but it’s remarkable. I truly loved the authentic music scenes, the simple romancing and at the end where Dave adopted them-yes chipmunks.

It’s a movie every member of the family can enjoy!  Go See and tell me what you think about the son when he got frisked at the airport. Dude peed and pooed* on himself!Well there you have it. Alvin and the Chipmunks: The Road Chip will be playing in theaters December 18, 2015. I’m off to figure out who Belle Thorne is.  Have a great one ya’ll! 

 

Friday Four: Disney On Ice -100 Years Of Magic REVIEW (CHARLOTTE NC)

Sing-along to over 30 unforgettable songs including “Let It Go,” “You’ve Got a Friend in Me,” and “Hakuna Matata.” Exciting moments from Disney•Pixar’s Toy Story, Finding Nemo, Disney’s The Lion King, Beauty and the Beast, Aladdin and more will leave the whole family with memories to last a lifetime!!!

We are still excited about the Disney On Ice 100 Years Of Magic opening night in the QC! It was AMAZING! It was everything they said it would be- but more!

They opened with a “Minnie dance party” Mickey and Minnie rocked the entire crowd. That really set the tone for rest of the night! The kids AND adults were mesmerised. They do such a good job on ice, you tend to forget they are ice skating! We seen difficult spins, the pair skating lifts and throws, the ice dance lifts and adagio lifts; Just MAGICAL!!!!!!!

They went Ole’ School to New School with the cast! Everyone was grabbing their air microphones and singing together all their favorites like “Let It Go,” “You’ve Got a Friend in Me,” and “Hakuna Matata.”  Disney•Pixar’s Toy Story, Finding Nemo, Disney’s The Lion King, Beauty and the Beast, Aladdin and more!!! Like previous years, the costumes, music and lighten effects was grand and perfect! 

When some people think Disney, they think princesses and animals. Last night my sons were super impressed to see so many male roles that didn’t include leggings.

My sons wanted to share their thoughts on the show as well.

I REFUSE TO RUIN IT FOR YOU, BUT four of my favorite parts of the show was

1. When Rafiki the baboon, walked out to introduce his friends! No one was expecting him to have such a powerful part in the show.

2. When my family was on ice. You’ll have to see it to know what I’m talking about.

3. When I seen all the smiles on my children’s face and so many daddies out with their royal court.

4.  After the 2 hour show, when I was blessed with a hug from two of the most beautiful princesses EVER!  

Don’t miss it. In closing, let me add that it has been an pleasure to see so many dads out there this year! My heart was melting left and right at the sight of such huge smiles from the tiniest of princesses!
