Friday Four: Disney On Ice -100 Years Of Magic REVIEW (CHARLOTTE NC)

Sing-along to over 30 unforgettable songs including

Sing-along to over 30 unforgettable songs including “Let It Go,” “You’ve Got a Friend in Me,” and “Hakuna Matata.” Exciting moments from Disney•Pixar’s Toy Story, Finding Nemo, Disney’s The Lion King, Beauty and the Beast, Aladdin and more will leave the whole family with memories to last a lifetime!!!

We are still excited about the Disney On Ice 100 Years Of Magic opening night in the QC! It was AMAZING! It was everything they said it would be- but more!

They opened with a “Minnie dance party” Mickey and Minnie rocked the entire crowd. That really set the tone for rest of the night! The kids AND adults were mesmerised. They do such a good job on ice, you tend to forget they are ice skating! We seen difficult spins, the pair skating lifts and throws, the ice dance lifts and adagio lifts; Just MAGICAL!!!!!!!

They went Ole’ School to New School with the cast! Everyone was grabbing their air microphones and singing together all their favorites like “Let It Go,” “You’ve Got a Friend in Me,” and “Hakuna Matata.”  Disney•Pixar’s Toy Story, Finding Nemo, Disney’s The Lion King, Beauty and the Beast, Aladdin and more!!! Like previous years, the costumes, music and lighten effects was grand and perfect!

When some people think Disney, they think princesses and animals. Last night my sons were super impressed to see so many male roles that didn’t include leggings.

My sons wanted to share their thoughts on the show as well.

I REFUSE TO RUIN IT FOR YOU, BUT four of my favorite parts of the show was

1. When Rafiki the baboon, walked out to introduce his friends! No one was expecting him to have such a powerful part in the show.

2. When my family was on ice. You’ll have to see it to know what I’m talking about.the turtles 9My children and I

3. When I seen all the smiles on my children’s face and so many daddies out with their royal court.

4.  After the 2 hour show, when I was blessed with a hug from two of the most beautiful princesses EVER!  princess 9-30-2015 9-21-41 PM 3264x2448

Don’t miss it. In closing, let me add that it has been an pleasure to see so many dads out there this year! My heart was melting left and right at the sight of such huge smiles from the tiniest of princesses!

The show details are below! Get your tickets!!!!! It’s hands down the most affordable, entertaining and safest investment you can make this fall for your family!

Friday Four: Disney On Ice Princesses and Heroes Review

Talk a bout a must see! This was a great show!  Disney On Ice : Princesses and Heroes  should be of every families bucket list. The cast diversity, and storylines were perfect! Last week we offered one of our readers the chance to attend Disney on Ice: Princesses and Heroes with thier family!

There were are least eight stories told in under two hours. With all of the action and awesome lines, your child wouldn’t even notice it. Disney’s Princesses & Heroes will transport you into a condensed version of the loveable Disney stories of Jasmine & Aladdin, Snow White & prince, Belle & Beast, Ariel & Eric, Aurora & Prince Phillip, Rapunzel & Flynn Rider, Tiana & Naveen.

We had the perfect hosts in Mickey, Minnie & Tinkerbell!IMG_0547

“Be Our Guest,” and “Under the Sea,” pop with creative costumes and dynamic lighting designs, and are as peppy as anything

I grew up watching their movies. I get as excited as the children since it made me instantly takes me back to the days of my youth. So it easily becomes a 90 – 120 minutes treat for everyone.

What is also cool it that each year they find a incredible way to keep it fresh without any story line -overkill. This year, there was FIRE and fireworks! Really- How cool is that?!?!?!?!?!

The skater’s skills were out of this world! They spun, they danced and they jumped (even on the water and fire!). It was truly the highlight of our week and we are already looking forward to next year.

My hope is that in the very near future we’ll be offered a fruit kabob or candied apple beside those $12. bags of cotton candy. (Yes, a girl can wish !)

While tickets can be a bit pricey (though deals can always be found) it’s absolutely worth the excitement aroused and the gusto with which the little ones rush to the event!

"Children today..... what can I say!" -

“Children today….. what can I say!” –

Here’s my 4 simple tips for attending a live show on Ice:

1. Eat before you go. EVERYTHING in the area is exspensive. Your children will want it all.

2. Bring a sweater. It’s Disney On Ice. It gets pretty cold in there.

3. Get there on time. When the show begins the lights are turn off and let’s be honest, who likes to get up for  people to squeeze in the row. It’s a considerate thing to do.

4. Enjoy yourself. This is a vacation for your family. Make the most of it and have fun. Laugh, sing a long, take pictures and use a hash tag! Yes really, Feedback is golden. And your child(ren) will remember it forever!

Ooooh, the perks of being a mom blogger! Disclosure: Field Entertainment will provided my family and I with 4 tickets for Disney On Ice. All thoughts and opinions are my own. No compensation was received. Thank you again to all of the contestants in our fun contest! They were all great entires! See ya soon!

Wednesday WOW!: Disney on Ice “Worlds of Fantasy” – Review

Charlotte NC, Disney on Ice “Worlds of Fantasy” – Review

We had another great family event in the Queen City. Last night, Disney On Ice “Worlds of Fantasy” premiered at the Time Warner Cable Coliseum. It was unbelievably packed and everyone was just as excited as my children were! We seen some of the most amazing costumes ever from the tiniest of spectators!  It’s things like that I like to see. How others prepare and enjoy themselves to attend live shows . Did they like Disney as much as my kids & I do. Just looking at the little smiles and big, bright, souvenir hibiscus, plastic, flower hats in the lobby – BEFORE the show, I’d say YES.  Everyone was totally ready for what was about to happen live…… (Even the ones that came in representing Pink for Breast Cancer Awareness as I did).

The World’s of Fantasy tour featured Car’s, The Little Mermaid, The Lion King and Tinkerbell and her fairy friends. I was really curious to see how they would portray the cars show on ice, but confident that we wouldn’t be disappointed. The best hint I can give is to just think of it as a intense highlight of old favorites, while giving everyone a sneak peak of a new Disney movie called Tinker Bell.   (We’re sold- I think we’ll watch it)

Minnie and Mickey started the tour in a shiny red car that careens around the rink, much to the delight and awe of the young crowd. When the car breaks down, rusty old Mater shows up to tow it, joined by the lovely-in-blue Sally and some of her friends, sporting high-gloss paint, tail fins and white-walled tires. It was amazing to see the cars looking just as they do in the movie but on ice ya’ll!!

Next on stage was The Little Mermaid. The music and colors were fun, bright and just great. And that  Barbie…..she’s still fly after all these years!

I’ll tell you something else. It was jammed packed with learning moments.  It covered self acceptance, team work, loyalty, sweet friendships  and even betrayal. At some point when Andy had to give up the toys I was fast to use it as a learning opportunity for my 3 and 5 year old.  The simple  minute skit help explain to them at least three lessons:

1. It’s great to share your things with others if you no longer need them.

2. It’s smart to take good care of your toys, otherwise they will collect all of their parts back together & pull your toes once you fall asleep.

3. As people get older, they change friends as they move from preschool, up through high school to college and beyond. Some are like silver and others are like gold. Mom will always be there no matter what!

The end of the show took place in Pixie Hallow with Tinkerbell and her Fairy Friends. It was so fun seeing the fairies take center stage and the plot line was really fun. I can say out of all the Disney on Ice shows we’ve seen, nearly faultless ice skating and all it was fantastic! It was filled with tremendous feats of skill and talent, excellent choreography, strong plot, costumes just out of this world. A first class production.  This show really offers something very special for everyone in the family.

I took my 13, 12, 5,3,2, and 4month old. The 4 month old did well. He slept through most of it. When he was awake, he did just fine watching all the wonderful excitement that he could handle.  The little green army men seemed to be his favorite part.

Here are my tips for taking a nearly three-year-old:

  • Take their favorite toy (as long as it’s not too big!) or dress them up. It makes a great conversation piece when they get older.
  • Try and make sure their view isn’t blocked as best that you can.  The ushers at Time Warner Cable are very attentive to everyone’s needs, so this shouldn’t be an issue.
  • Talk to them throughout the show about what’s happening. It’s just another way to maximize their learning time. (Yes, I homeschool)
  • Take a sweater! It’s Disney On Ice…..burrrrr!……ice = cold! 🙂
  • Take them for bathroom/potty break at intermission and of course before it begins!
  • Feed them before you leave out for the show, That stuff is EXPENSIVE.
  • Above all, let them be kids. Watch them jump, sing (The Circle of Life”, “Be Prepared”, “Hakuna Matata” and “Can You Feel the Love Tonight” to name a few) & wiggle!

Now, how do I get this pixy dust out of my eyes? 🙂

Friday Four: DNC debate was catty

It’s not that I’ve forgotten to write, it’s more because there so much going on, I can’t choose what to share first. But from this past week, I’ve pulled my top four events.

But before I do, I must say this quick plug for my president: Mitt……not now, not ever-No chance, with your rude self! Okay, now as I was saying……

My top four:

1. I just succeeded getting my son in love with reading! I have him on a daily reading curriculum & he is thriving in it!  My goal is to have him skip a grade once I get him in a private school. He’s already 5 and quite tall. He’ll do just fine in the 1st grade.

2. We started our morning off at Home Depot. We’ve been going since our daughters were knee high to a grasshopper. I’m so happy they offer them for free.  The kids workshops are just amazing and so empowering!  All of my children look forward to building something with their very own hands every 1st month of the year. While we were there, we also painted & decorated small pumpkins for the children of Levine hospital. How do you like our Elmo one? One the other side it says  HEALED!  What A Morning! …Next up was our next trip was to Imagnion for a party!

Charlie Brown & Snoopy even came out to celebrate 7 years of Imaginon being around. It was the best 7yo party we’ve been to all year long- complete with face painting, music, magic, balloon art, movies, cupcakes and cookie!  It was worth the quick dash out of the library to re-park the mini van (we get 90min to park for free & I refuse to pay If I don’t have to! )

3. I’ve found the ticket to  constantly improve my daughters writing skills! I now have a perfect way to get my daughters to read and write more. It’s through Scholastic!

Here’s what it’s about Scholastic News Kids Press Corps
Members of the Scholastic News Kids Press Corps cover news stories for http://www.scholastic.com/kidspress and select Scholastic classroom magazines. Between 15-20 new press corps members are chosen each school year. The program is open to all students ages 10-14 with a burning desire to be a journalist. The selection of Kid Reporters is based on writing ability, interviewing skills, and attention to detail.

Friday4: Review-Disney On Ice-Dare To Dream

Another Disney show, that delivered on their promise! The kids loved it. Eaim left us to hang with his buddy, but every time I looked back at him, he was munching, jumping and smiling! Without a doubt Disney is in the business of bringing magic to life. Here’s my review.

This live show featured scenes from Tangled, The Princess and the Frog, and Cinderella. My 2 yr old marveled at the captivating action   of the characters taking to the ice. A memory I will never forget it!

Mickey and his friends, including Tiana, Cinderella and Rapunzel were there to celebrate the magic of wishes coming true. The show opens in New Orleans where we see Tiana sharing her wishes of opening her own restaurant. The story follows her adventures of turning into a frog and finding true love.

Next we see the story of Cinderella. After getting a chance to go to the ball, in a beautiful horse drawn carriage, which looked really amazing on the ice, she runs home as the clock strikes midnight. Next, Flynn rider hangs from the ceiling while trying to steal the crown.

Oh no, next we find Rapunzel locked in her tower trying to convince her mother to let her leave. We follow through the story and get to the part with Rapunzel finally seeing the floating lanterns. The arena was lit up with lanterns hanging down over the ice, and it looked AMAZING!

At the end of the show all the Disney princesses came out for the spectacular finale. LOVED IT!

Beautiful costumes, amazing skaters and and all around great show for the whole family!

On my previous post, I had a picture with Rapunzal holding a pot over a dudes head. I didn’t know why she was doing that, but that was totally an attention getter. Come to find out. She was ———-(you have to go to the show to find out- lol) Disney On Ice presents Dare to Dream” last show is Sunday. So you don’t want to miss it and there’s still time!

If you haven’t gotten your tickets. Use code ICE to get them at a discount. Below are my daughters personal opinions of the show. It’s amazing how differently they thought.

Today, October 6th,2011

Disney On Ice put on their “Dare To Dream”

performance at the Time Warner Cable Arena.

We went to the 7:00 show. Mom, and the rest of

the crew seemed as if they had a great time!

Personally I give the performance tonight two

thumbs up, From the setting, to the hair and make-up all the

way to wardrobe. It was absolutely astonishing!! Exceptional!!

Words couldn’t explain how awesome it was!

My favorite part was when Princess Tianna kissed the frog,

turned into one, and went to the lady to turn her and the prince

back human. The woman was so funny, she reminded me of my mom!!

But the most romantic part was Rapunzel and her prince “Eugene”

(Flynn The Bad Guy) How they got to know each other and gained trust of each other. Overall, Everything was beautifully put together.

Bippity,Bopppity,Bye!!!- “D.” 12 yr old

We all went to Disney On Ice tonight.

I kinda liked it but I also thought that it was too much going on.

I am a Feld Family Ambassador, and in exchange for my time and efforts in attending shows and reporting my opinion within this blog, as well as keeping you advised of the latest discount offers, Feld Entertainment has provided me with complimentary tickets to Feld shows and opportunities to attend private Feld pre-Show events. Even though I receive these benefits, I always give an opinion that is 100% mine if you can‘t tell.
