Gravity has a tiny cast and an incredible story. We loved it! I took my two daughters to watch it in 3D at the local IMAX theater. We enjoyed the comfy seats, larger than life screen, and bottomless popcorn and lemon water- it was so worth it.  If Star Trek was this exciting I probably would like it just a little. It made me wish that I was an astronaut floating around with them in outer space. 🙂

Movie Tip:”Gravity” in only 90 minutes

I can relate with Dr. Ryan Stone (Sandra Bullock) role on so many levels. On she lost a daughter at a very young age. So did I.  “Dr. Stone” had to find way to go on mentally. Her commander, veteran astronaut Matt Kowalsky/George Cloney, proved to more than eye candy. He served as a refreshing light in guiding her into a place of empowerment. I love the way he used humor throughout the movie.

MOVIE TIP: “Gravity” cost $100 million to make”

Like ” Dr. Stone”, I went a long time looking for a reason to continue to live, love and thrive. I had it so bad, I recall staying up all night searching for the meaning of death.  To this day, I can’t tell you what turned it around for me. From devastation to hope. From sadness to joy. From anger to happiness. Something inside me said, “It’s time to move on. You have others looking up to you. My life isn’t over yet. “Loosing a child is not easy. But just as the movie showed it is a must to be free and at peace before you touch the ground.

Go see GRAVITY, it’s fantastic!”  Woof Woof Woof!”  (after you watch the movie, you’ll know what that means 🙂

One part of the movie, Dr. Stone looks like a baby in the womb still attached to the umbilical cord.- Deanna

Here’s the Synopsis:

Director Alfonso Cuaron’s Gravity stars Sandra Bullock as Dr. Ryan Stone, a scientist on a space shuttle mission headed by astronaut Matt Kowalsky (George Clooney), a talkative, charismatic leader full of colorful stories that he shares with his crewmates as well as mission control. As the two are on a space walk, debris hits the area where they are working, and soon the pair finds themselves detached from their ship and stranded in space. While figuring out what steps they can take to save themselves, Stone grapples with a painful past that makes her consider giving up altogether.

2 Guns: The QC Supermom Movie Review

Saturday night I took my daughters to see one of the best movies to come out this summer!

2 GUNS starring – Featuring     Denzel Washington and Mark Wahlberg

(Watch the trailer here.)

We have different movie selection styles, but this one was a green light with all three of us! It had everything, sarcasm, bad boy play, kick butt action ( guns, bulls and lighters) and a wild look into the dark side of our protective services and their “relationship” with drug lords.

Watch the interview here! Too funny!

Needless to sat the movie  was completely unpredictable and  attention grabbing right to the very end. But would you expect anything less from those guys? They did’t miss a lick!

I will tell you that it’s Rated R. and some parts of the movie, you might wanna have the kids sip on the tea you snook in.   Director, Baltasar Kormakur put together a great cast. Others in the movie are;  The supporting cast — consisting of Bill Paxton, Paula Patton, James Marsden, and Edward James Olmos — you would have to be a movie buff to know all of them (I didn’t)

In a nutshell, WE LOVED IT! If it wasn’t so late when we got out I may have watched it again. It was worth dumping my husband and sons that night.

They’re hardened criminals who decide to steal from a Mexican drug cartel boss named Papi Greco (Edward James Olmos) after he refuses to pay them the cocaine promised for their latest job, and because Greco beheaded one of their best friends in the organization. Bobby and Stig bite off more than they can chew, however, when the bank heist yields millions of dollars more than they originally planned, setting in motion a string of double crosses that keep the bullets flying and bromance ablaze.- KP

Friday Four: The Parental Guidance Review

“Not Today Sir” that’s my 6 year olds favorite part in the movie. We went to see PARENTAL GUAIDANCE last night and loved it!

Well most of us. pg

It seems that my daughters best part was when Carl’s “friend” got ran over by the massively apologetic asian man.

I was super suprised to hear my college son pick up on the color words used after the spympony scene by the grandfather/ VooDoo Man. I didn’t even know what colorful words meant. They are still tryng to explain it to me.  My college son also thought that the parents were to soft and bland on the kids. “Come on mom, the black eye will go down. He should get that bully again!”he added.

I will say this, all of them agreed that the were the best grandparents ever!   It was great to see a mom that reminded me of myself. I loved the grandmom, Diane. She encouraged her daughter to be a wife.  When she got snazzy with the red haired music teacher with the strong accent, for yelling at her granddaughter. Artie, the grandfather was adorable. I could relate to him as well. He kept it simple, as you’ll see even in the sence where he covers the toilet seat with tissue before his grandson sits for a song and plop.

Anything he starts, you can finish-believe in yourself.”- Artie, the Grandfather   pg1

Here’s my 4 tips to consider when you go watch it on Christmas day.

1.  Take a family member that  needs a positive, funny, how-to rebuilding kit.  This movie was great in identifying the family weaknesses in a comical way and rebuilding. To me it said…..It’s never too late! In the movie it was reassuring to see that the problems the father and daughter had were repaired and proved to be a stronger latter than prior.

2. If you ever attend an event where Tony Hawk is attending never allow your lil ones to urinate on the rink. It will be on the news.

3. Listen to the gentle, short parenting tips well placed in the  different  scenes. From Say No more often to the proclainmation that there is such thing as a perfect parent.

4. Find out about sensible eating and exerciseing in the movie. This family showed how to play “Kick the Can”,  Yogurt is not like Ice Cream and that  tofu dogs isn’t just for humans.

Friends, make sure you go andwatch it on Christmas Day. It’s a wonderful and funny family bonding movie. Well till next time- QC Supermom
