Here’s my four tips for attending a Ringling Brothers Circus:

1. Have a zoo party at home or go by the local party store for circus related accessories.
2. Eat before you arrive. Water is $2.00! I usually take fruits.
3. Get there at least an hour early to smell, touch and take pictures with the animals, and entertainers. The sweet memories will last longer!
4. Park On East Trade. There is a $5- FIVE dollar lot on the other side of the CAT’s bus area.

Friday Four: Disney On Ice -100 Years Of Magic REVIEW (CHARLOTTE NC)

Sing-along to over 30 unforgettable songs including

Sing-along to over 30 unforgettable songs including “Let It Go,” “You’ve Got a Friend in Me,” and “Hakuna Matata.” Exciting moments from Disney•Pixar’s Toy Story, Finding Nemo, Disney’s The Lion King, Beauty and the Beast, Aladdin and more will leave the whole family with memories to last a lifetime!!!

We are still excited about the Disney On Ice 100 Years Of Magic opening night in the QC! It was AMAZING! It was everything they said it would be- but more!

They opened with a “Minnie dance party” Mickey and Minnie rocked the entire crowd. That really set the tone for rest of the night! The kids AND adults were mesmerised. They do such a good job on ice, you tend to forget they are ice skating! We seen difficult spins, the pair skating lifts and throws, the ice dance lifts and adagio lifts; Just MAGICAL!!!!!!!

They went Ole’ School to New School with the cast! Everyone was grabbing their air microphones and singing together all their favorites like “Let It Go,” “You’ve Got a Friend in Me,” and “Hakuna Matata.”  Disney•Pixar’s Toy Story, Finding Nemo, Disney’s The Lion King, Beauty and the Beast, Aladdin and more!!! Like previous years, the costumes, music and lighten effects was grand and perfect!

When some people think Disney, they think princesses and animals. Last night my sons were super impressed to see so many male roles that didn’t include leggings.

My sons wanted to share their thoughts on the show as well.

I REFUSE TO RUIN IT FOR YOU, BUT four of my favorite parts of the show was

1. When Rafiki the baboon, walked out to introduce his friends! No one was expecting him to have such a powerful part in the show.

2. When my family was on ice. You’ll have to see it to know what I’m talking about.the turtles 9My children and I

3. When I seen all the smiles on my children’s face and so many daddies out with their royal court.

4.  After the 2 hour show, when I was blessed with a hug from two of the most beautiful princesses EVER!  princess 9-30-2015 9-21-41 PM 3264x2448

Don’t miss it. In closing, let me add that it has been an pleasure to see so many dads out there this year! My heart was melting left and right at the sight of such huge smiles from the tiniest of princesses!

The show details are below! Get your tickets!!!!! It’s hands down the most affordable, entertaining and safest investment you can make this fall for your family!

Friday Four: My Monster Jam in the QC!

We made our first trip every to Monster Jam this weekend! The weird thing about it is I never – ever been a fan. Sure, I purchased the cars for my 5 sons, but I was never the mom to sit and watch it on television or insist to go see them live at a show in town. collectiontable

But I’m always but for new adventures with my family! We attended opening night here in the QC and we loved every minute of it!

It was thrill after thrill after thrill! It was action packed to the max!

My tiny brain started to hurt because I was cheering so hard for more wheelies, dough nuts and jumps. Even when the trucks went over board and flipped over, it was still a thrill to see how  the crew came, and responded to the situation. My 4 year old was upset because none of them were the color red. From my husband, he went on and on about the motorcyclist and pogo guys tricks. I think everyone’s top 3 were Spike, Mohawk and as Mega Bite they were the fastest, most dynamic, most exhilarating, and fun looking guys out there!

Here’s a few of my 8 year old sons favorite shots from Monster Jam.  Spike in the QC Monster Jam

4 things to consider before going to a Monster Jam:

1. Bring ear plugs and a filter for breathing. It can get pretty loud in their. Younger children I think are most disturbed by it. Because there is gallons of gas and oil, and dirt, and rubber ALL over the place, it can get toxic. Wearing a filter (I used my scarf and washed as soon as I got home) will reduce all of that getting in your skin.

2. Learn about Monster Jam. My son never said a word about a Mohawk. This morning, I woke up to seeing hair on the floor and scissors in the toilet. My son wanted his hair just like the ..   The older boys were outside this morning crashing their tiny cars….. (I stopped that really quick, as I have no time to rush and sit in the ER for hours on top of hours today.) Had I known they were so impressive, I would have warm them like a surgeon general’s posting on a box of cigarettes.

3. Always look for promo codes to make attending even easier. Get there early and consider picking up your ticket before the show. ….. You’ll thank me for that one later- trust me!TIP: I usually have fun contests for awesome family shows here in Charlotte. Now the parking, I can’t help you with.

4. Bring a camera and OR get good seats! There is nothing like having one of those huge, sweet trucks stopping smack dab in front of you and waving! I know he was waving at the kids but after watching a few doughnuts in the dirt and them virtually flying in air….. I was mesmerized. (I think I want to drive one myself now) Yes, I embarrassed my girls a few times, but it was so worth it. Family time is always a good time, and I noticed that I wasn’t alone. Families were everywhere I looked. Some were drinking others were eating, but everyone had a smile on their face!

It was so worth the trip of getting everyone ready and out the door!

Wednesday Wow: 2014 Queen City Stay At Home Moms

I am so ready for 2015! There is so much to look forward to. My family, professionally and within the community. Today I wanted to share with everyone the accomplishments of my mom support group, Queen City Stay At Home Moms.QCSAHM 2014-15

I started this group in 2007, right after my moms passed. I needed something to focus on beside my boyfriend and children. I was fustrated because I had two college degrees and was doing absolutely nothing either of them, and like my mom in many ways, didn’t know how to put myself first. Here just seven years later, I have created something remarkable and of high quality for all moms of the Queen City. This has given me a platform to use both my motherhood and collegiate education.

Ronald McDonalds house and QC Supermom

We enjoyed hosting and organized a Swap Till We Drop clothing drive for the residents of the Ronald McDonald House- Charlotte

QUEEN CITY STAY AT HOME MOMS

There are many things that I am proud of accomplishing over the years. We have created over 32 jobs. Assisted 8 moms into momperneurship. We have hosted 5 Total Children’s Wellness Fair and have given over 200 hours on charity. The moms workshops, private movie screenings, cooking with kids classes, our incredible contests, group birthday parties, opportunities to product test AND  the comfort of always having a mom friend to confide in has been icing on the cake. QCSAHM’s, accept moms where they are and challenge them to be more by providing resources, tools and opportunities to grow in any holistic directon she chooses.
