Friday Four: O’my it’s raining mighty hard, it must be time for Noah!

Noah Elohim is 1 today!!!   nn

I’m sitting here looking at him as he dances across the floor with his big siblings. It’s so incredible to fathom the love God has for me compared to how much I sincerely LOVE this little guy (and the rest of his siblings.)

“I said, ‘You are “gods” [Elohim] you are all sons of the Most High'”

him noah

We have a birthday boy today! My baby, Noah has hit a major milestone right during the middle of a heavy and long rain.

It’s been so nice to see how, time, love and breast milk has done such as great job for him. At his checkup yesterday is got a A+. Meaning his weight and  height was in the 50th% range with others his age. We may not get a 6’8 guy like his oldest brother Jervon, but we won’t have a Muggsy Bogues either. 🙂

Do you know what his name means:  Noah

It’s pronounced NOH-ah. It is of Hebrew origin, and the meaning of Noah is “peaceful”. Also possibly “long-lived”, “comforter”, or “wanderer”. The patriarch survivor of the Great Flood who drifted in the ark for 40 days of rain. According to the biblical account, all the world’s nations are descended from Noah’s three sons. The name has been steadily used since the 17th century. (Noe is a Spanish form.) It has 6 variant forms: Knoa, Noach, Noak, Noe, Noe and Norrie.

It’s pronounced, Eh-loh-heem  “The Holy One, Blessed be He, said to those, You want to know my name? I am called according to my actions. When I judge the creatures I am Elohim, and when I have mercy with My world, I am named YHVH” (Ex R. 3:6). The name YHVH (from the semitic root that means “to be”) and expresses the idea of God’s closeness to humans. YHVH “breathed into his (Adam’s) nostrils the breath of life” (Genesis 2:7).  ( You can listen to it here. I LOVE the way his name is pronounced).

My husband and I created his name together after days of deliberation. We chose it for the same reason we named our other children righteous names. We want them to have something to keep them focused on someone greater then themselves.

Ok, great folks,I gotta get back to the party. Noah, is refusing to touch the birthday cake. I’d hate for him to sail away too soon to rebuild this crazy world on the account of a bad cake.
Don’t be surprise if you see the ark rolling down your street! Rain Rain go away, Noah’s 1st birthday party is today!

Yeah, I said it! Noah’s Ark……..(now watch Jennifer Hudson sing “Happy Birthday to You“)

Till the next birthday, be good, love strong & eat clean, QC Supermom

Let’s talk about Easter !! ( Yea, I hijacked it again ! )

Wassuuuuuuuup! It’s Deanna again 🙂 Miss me? Yea I know .

Today, Mom was like “Hey, why don’t you do a blog on Easter?”  It sound good to me so let’s get popping!

First, what is Easter you ask?

Easter is the celebration of Jesus Christ’s rising from the dead (His Resurrection) after his crucifixion which took place on what we now term Good Friday.

Easter is usually celebrated on the first Sunday after the full moon following the Vernal or Spring Equinox on March 21st. This can be any Sunday between March 22nd and April 25th. It is the most sacred of all the Christian holidays or celebrations.

Christ’s return (or rising) from death is called the Resurrection. According to the scriptures, Christ’s tomb was empty three days after His death, which is commemorated on Good Friday. His followers saw Him and talked to Him after this. Christians therefore believe that they have the hope of a new life (an everlasting life in Heaven) after their

earthly death.

The Easter Bunny, in case you’ve been living in a cave, on Mars, with your fingers in your ears, is an anthropomorphic, egg-laying rabbit who sneaks into homes the night before Easter to deliver baskets full of colored eggs, toys and chocolate. A wise man once said that “all religions are beautiful and all religions are wacko,” but even if you allow for miracles, angels, and pancake Jesus, the Easter Bunny really comes out of left field.

Newness -Spring is the season of rebirth and renewal. Plants return to life after winter dormancy and many animals mate and procreate. Many pagan cultures held spring festivals to celebrate this renewal of life and promote fertility. One of these festivals was in honor of Eostre or Eastre, the goddess of dawn, spring and fertility near and dear to the hearts of the pagans in Northern EuropImagee. Many churches hold special services on Easter Sunday, which celebrate the Jesus Christ’s resurrection after his crucifixion. Many people also decorate eggs. These can be hard boiled eggs that can be eaten later, but may also be model eggs made of plastic, chocolate, candy or other materials. It is also common to organize Easter egg hunts. Eggs of some form are hidden, supposedly by a rabbit or hare. People, especially children, then search for them. When I was younger, us kids used to decorate the eggs, and tImagehen our parents would hide them, we would hunt them, yippie!!!

Easter Sunday is one of the most festive events among Christians worldwide. It commemorates Jesus Christ’s resurrection from death, as written in the Christian bible.

I think every kid should celebrate Easter, just to enjoy the excitement of the games . When I was younger, it was competitive. Although everyone had some type or reward & loads of fun I wasn’t happy till I found the eggs with the gift cards attached .

My mom doesn’t understand what the Easter bunny has to do with the Resurrection but, hey, I didn’t create the holiday, I just celebrate it.

Wednesday Wow:Noah found favor! Not much sleep though

During my quest to read the entire Bible and I found the most wild story in Genesis 9 oah, a farmer, was the first to plant a vineyard. He drank from its wine, got drunk and passed out, naked in his tent. Ham, the father of Canaan, saw that his father was naked and told his two brothers who were outside the tent. Shem and Japheth took a cloak, held it between them from their shoulders, walked backwards and covered their father’s nakedness, keeping their faces turned away so they did not see their father’s exposed body.

So Noe (Noe is of Hebrew origin and means Noah. )he got drunk and naked in the privacy of his tent. It’s not what you expect of a great biblical hero, but it’s a very human reaction.

I’m thinking our little Noah Elohim will fit right in with his new family!

Today is a very sleepy day for me. Noah will be just 3weeks tomorrow & he is now being a party dude of the sorts. So it seemed fitting to talk about him while he’s asleep. Although my dad always told me to sleep while the baby is sleeping. Smart man isn’t he?

We all love the story about Noah. Those of us that were brought up in church from our childhood have heard the story of Noah a number of times in our lives. It has become a familiar story to us, most of us could tell from memory. And yet maybe it is that familiarity of the story that caused me to miss some very exciting facts about the story. Here are just a few more things I discovered this morning.

His father Lamech named him nûaḥ (the final ḥ is a more guttural sound than the English h), saying, “This same shall comfort us in our work and in the toil of our hands, which cometh from the ground which the LORD hath cursed.”[

His life of 950 years, exemplified obedience.

Hard to believe right????  Who’d knew. Here, do your own research like I did!
